PALEONTOLOGY MUSEUM

The Paleontological museum in Asenovgrad started as an exposition of fossils that have been gathered by a local teacher and his students for 30 years. The most attractive thing is a 4 meters tall skeleton casting of a Deinotherium from the Age of Turolian.

The exposure includes exhibits from local Miocene fauna, corals, ammonites, sea urchin etc. But the main part of it contains remains of mammals from the Age of Late Miocene and Neogene.
